1. Activate your SmartDNA kit
Create your account online and activate your home DNA testing kit.
2. Take a saliva sample
Take a saliva sample from a cheek swab. Once this is complete, seal your DNA sample inside the envelope provided and post it to our lab.
3. Get your results
You’ll receive an email when your saliva sample arrives at our lab. Your results will be available 15 days from this date.
4. Speak to our lifestyle coach
Make sense of the science with a call from one of our lifestyle coaches. Together, you’ll create an action plan to get the most from your results.

Your nutrition report helps you to understand more about potential sensitivities. These can include alcohol, caffeine, carbohydrates and more. Please note that your genetic makeup is not the only factor that determines how your mind and/or body responds to these things.

We do everything we can to keep your personal information private. We process your DNA sample securely at our accredited UK laboratory. We only analyse the small number of genetic variants we need. Afterwards, your DNA sample is safely disposed of.

No. Although Bupa SmartDNA is a genetic testing kit, it is not diagnostic and will not tell you your ancestry. It's designed to look at your DNA structure to identify how prone you are to certain factors.
No. Your Bupa SmartDNA test results can help you to understand more about how your body might respond to certain foods.
It can’t tell you whether you will or won’t get stressed. But knowing more about your genetics can help you decide on techniques to use to cope with stress.
